The temperature probe connected to the indoor and outdoor circuit boards of air conditioners is essentially a thermistor. Thermistors (NTCs) are usually negative temperature coefficients, and the resistance value will change with the ambient temperature, and the resistance of the probe will decrease as the temperature increases.

The commonly used temperature probes for air conditioners have 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K, and 50K resistance, and the resistance of these temperature probes refers to the resistance value measured at the ambient temperature of 25°C.

In the actual maintenance of air conditioners, the temperature probe is one of the common vulnerable components, so it is necessary to measure and judge the quality of the temperature probe frequently. If the probe is damaged by an open circuit or a short circuit, then it is easy to judge whether it is good or bad; If the performance of the probe is poor, such as the resistance value becomes larger, or the resistance value becomes smaller, and there are many air conditioning models, it is not possible to determine what the nominal resistance value (25°C resistance value) of the probe is, then it is not easy to judge whether the probe is good or bad.

The following is a reference table for the resistance and temperature of the common temperature probe of the air conditioner, when measuring the temperature probe, we only need to prepare a temperature gauge for a few dollars, (some multi-purpose strap temperature detection function) combined with this reference table, it is easy to judge the quality of the temperature probe. This kind of wire is also commonly used in the medical industry, power supply industry, and Coptic has been working in the temperature probe line industry for many years.
